In what formats will the vector illustrations be delivered?
The freely editable vector illustrations will be delivered digitally in the Formats PDF (Portable Document Format) and EPS (Encapsulated PostScript). They can be opened with all current Vector Graphic Editors (for example: ”Adobe Illustrator”, ”Sketch”, ”inkscape” or ”CorelDRAW”) on Mac OS X, Windows or Linux.
Can I use the vector illustrations for commercial projects such as web-design or printed materials?
Yes, our illustrations can be in accordance to the license agreement illustrations, after purchase and download through our web shop, edited any number of times and used as design elements for media- and design objects. Our illustrations are suited for web-design, Apps, E-Books and printed materials (on paper and textiles).

What is the difference between vector.town illustrations and other stock illustrations like Adobe Stock?

Are the vector illustrations suitable for use in a cutting plotter?
When using cutting plotters the design concept with the chosen vector illustrations should be evaluated beforehand. This is necessary because of the high amount of details in the illustrations. Results also differ widely depending of the type of print surface.
I can't open my vector illustrations!
Our illustrations are provided for download as compressed archives in ZIP format. With current versions of Mac OS X and Windows operating systems you can simply open the files by double clicking them. The vector illustrations contained in these ZIP files are available in the editable formats PDF (Portable Document Format) and EPS (Encapsulated PostScript). Those can be opened with all current vector graphics editors (for example: ”Adobe Illustrator”, ”Sketch”, ”inkscape” or ”CorelDRAW”) on Mac OS X, Windows or Linux.
You can import vector illustrations into Adobe Photoshop, but the editing scope is limited due to the nature of the editor.
I cannot assign a color to my single vector object. Why does the color always become grey?
You must change the object colormode from grayscale to CMYK or RGB. Adobe Illustrator: Choose Edit → Edit Colors → Convert to CMYK or Convert To RGB (depending on the color mode of your document)
Can I submit my own illustrations to vector.town?
Yes! Send us examples of your work. After evaluation and matching, you will publish them as an artist on vector.town, will have a share of the revenue and are part of the collective. You will also get free access to all existing vector sets and illustrations.
I can't get to grips with this.
Well, that happens sometimes. We suggest you take a break. Take an airing in the rain or sunshine and try to deal with our vector illustration at a later date. You can not force creativity. A good design takes time to develop, a critical view and that does not happen over night. Do experiment, play with the vector objects and change your perspective.
